TDA2005 Low Cost 2x20 Watt Stereo Amplifier

This circuit is a small stereo amplifier for all suitable applications like amplifying small speakers, boxing, etc. It is also suitable for car use but before, the power supply must be choked with at least 150mH and it must give up to approximately 6 to 7 amps during the upstream performance. Appropriate heatsink for the amplifier is SK08 with a height of 50 mm (approx. 2.5 K per watt). You should drill the cooler after soldering the board to center it properly. The TDA2005 also needs not be isolated from the heat sink, since the metal mounting part of the IC is grounded.
2x202x20You should use thermal paste to improve the heat dissipation. After the assembly , case construction is left to the builder. 100K potentiometers are used for adjusting the input volume. The potentiometers are absent in the layout. The 100K resistors need only be installed if the 100 K potentiometers are not used as shown in the layout. You should use a well designed quality transformer to get less noise. It will be another good way to use a sufficient battery to power the circuit. Keep the supply wires as short as possible. Input source should be isolated from the external noises too. It is recommended to use coaxial cable to connect the input audio.

Low Noise Power Amplifier

The Curiously Low Noise Amplifier takes benefit of the wonderful blast characteristics of the 2SK170 JFET to facilitate boasts a clamor voltage underneath 1 nV/burrow-Hz and practically rejection racket current. The noise voltage of the amplifier is just 1.4 nV/root-Hz by the side of 1 kHz, increasing to only 2.7 nV/delve-Hz by 10 Hz. The blare current is awkward to quantity, so this undemanding benefit amplifier can notice the clamor from a 50 ohm resistor and a 100k resistor, too. (The 1.4 nV input-referred clamor command rise to re 1.7 nV with a 50 ohm resistor, as an alternative of a sharply, and a 100k resistor will bequeath an input-referred racket approaching 40 nV, with very small contribution from the amplifier.)

This amplifier is a "service" amplifier with a secure of 100, with the purpose of would typically occur used at home a lab setting to boost tiny signals on behalf of measurement or else added doling out. It isnt intended to drive a spokesperson or else headphones in a straight line. (It may well drive the LM386 quite nicely.) The circuit is a minimal discrete transistor view circuit with two grow stages and a unique panache-A output buffer stage:

Low Power Wireless Audio Power Amplifier

Battery-Powered portable unit, Suitable for all type Televisions

Using this low-cost project one can reproduce audio from TV without disturbing others. It does not use any wire connection between TV and Loud Speaker. In place of a pair of wires, it uses invisible infra-red light to transmit audio signals from TV to Loud speakers, Without using any lens a range of up to 6 meters is possible. Range can be extended by using lenses and reflectors with IR sensors comprising transmitters and receivers.

Transmitters operation:

IR transmitter uses two-stage transistor amplifier to drive two series-connected IR LEDs. An audio output transformer (T1) is used (in reverse) to couple audio output from TV to the IR transmitter. Transistors Q1 and Q2 amplify the audio signals received from TV through the audio transformer. Low impedance output windings (lower gauge or thicker wires) are used for connection to TV side while high-impedance windings are connected to IR transmitter. This IR transmitter can be powered from a 9V mains adapter or a 9V battery. Red LED (D1) in transmitter schema functions as a Zener diode (0.65V) as well as supply-on indicator.

Transmitter diagram:

Receivers operation:
IR receiver uses popular op-amp IC µA741 and audio-frequency amplifier IC LM386 along with phototransistor L14F1 (Q3) and some discrete components. The sound generated by TV set is transmitted through IR LEDs, received by phototransistor Q3 and fed to pin 2 of IC µA741 (IC1). Its gain can be varied using potmeter P2. The output of IC µA741 is fed to IC LM386 (IC2) via capacitor (C7) and potmeter P3. The sound produced is heard through the receiver’s loudspeaker. Potmeter P3 is used to control the volume of loudspeaker SPKR (8-ohm, 1W).

A simple low power car stereo amplifier schema based on TDA 2003 is shown here. The schema uses cheap, readily available components and it is very easy to construct. TDA2003 is an integrated car radio amplifier from ST Micro electronics that has a lot of good features like short schema protection for all pins, thermal over range low harmonic distortion, low cross over distortion etc.

Circuit diagram :

A simple low power car stereo amplifier Circuit Diagram

In the schema given here each TDA2003 is wired as a mono amplifier operating from a 12V supply. Resistors R2 and R3 forms a feedback network that sets the amplifiers gain. C7 is the input DC de-coupling capacitor and C5 couples the speaker to the amplifiers output. C4 is used for improving the ripple rejection while C1 and C2 are employed for power supply filtering. C3 and R1 are used for setting the upper frequency cut-off. Network comprising of C6 and R4 is used for frequency stabilization and to prevent oscillation.

Notes.

  • Assemble the schema on a good quality PCB.
  • Heat sinks are necessary for both ICs.
  • The schema can be operated from 12V DC.
  • S1 is the ON/OFF switch

That output is available at pin 9. Resistors R3 and R4 keep output transistors Q1 and Q2 from loading down the oscillator. The two transistors drive the transformer push-pull fashion. When one transistor is biased-on, the other is cut-off. The transformer is a 120 V/18 VCT unit that is connected backwards, so that it steps the voltage up rather than down. Oscillator schema U1, R1, R2, and C1 operates from about 4 to 16 V with a very ~stable output.

ESR Low Resistance Test Meter

As electrolytic capacitors age, their internal resistance, also known as "equivalent series resistance" (ESR), gradually increases. This can eventually lead to equipment failure. Using this design, you can measure the ESR of suspect capacitors as well as other small resistances. Basically, the schema generates a low-voltage 100kHz test signal, which is applied to the capacitor via a pair of probes. An op amp then amplifies the voltage dropped across the capacitor’s series resistance and this can be displayed on a standard multimeter. In more detail, inverter IC1d is configured as a 200kHz oscillator.
Its output drives a 4027 J-K flipflop, which divides the oscillator signal in half to ensure an equal mark/space ratio. Two elements of a 4066 quad bilateral switch (IC3c & IC3d) are alternately switched on by the complementary outputs of the J-K flipflop. One switch input (pin 11) is connected to +5V, whereas the other (pin 8) is connected to -5V. The outputs (pins 9 & 10) of these two switches are connected together, with the result being a ±5V 100kHz square wave. Series resistance is included to current-limit the signal before it is applied to the capacitor under test via a pair of test probes. Diodes D1 and D2 limit the signal swing and protect the 4066 outputs in case the capacitor is charged.
Circuit diagram:
esr-low-resistance-test-meter-schema-diagram1 ESR & Low Resistance Test Meter Circuit Diagram
A second pair of leads sense the signal developed across the probe tips. Once again, the signal is limited by diodes (D3 & D4) before begin applied to the remaining two inputs of the 4066 switch (pins 2 & 3 of IC3a & IC3b). These switches direct alternate half cycles to two 1μF capacitors, removing most of the AC component of the signal and providing a simple "sample and hold" mechanism. The 1μF capacitors charge to a DC level that is proportional to the test capacitor’s ESR. This is differentially amplified by op amp IC4 so that it can be displayed on a digital multimeter – 10Ω will be represented by 100mV, 1Ω by 10mV, etc. To calibrate the schema, first adjust VR1 to obtain 100kHz at TP3.
Next, momentarily short the test probes together and adjust VR4 for 0mV at pin 6 of IC4. That done, set your meter to read milliamps and connect it between TP4 and the negative (-) DMM output. Apply -5V to TP2 and note the current flow, which should be around 2.1mA. Transfer the -5V from TP2 to TP1 and adjust VR2 until the same current (ignore sign) is obtained. Remove the -5V from TP1. Again, set to your meter to read volts and connect it to the DMM outputs. Apply the probes to a 10W resistor and adjust VR3 for a reading of 100mV. Finally, ensure that all capacitors to be tested are always fully discharged before connecting the probes.
